Introduction Digital Multimeter ADCMT 7461A

There are three models included in these multimeter series, which are characterized by their high-performance capabilities and low price. These models are the 6½-digit DMM 7461A, the 6½-digit DMM with temperature measurement 7461P, and the 5½-digit DMM 7451A.

By utilizing a newly developed A/D converter, these multimeters achieve exceptional high-speed sampling performance, enabling them to effectively employ selective sampling modes. As a result, they can cater to a wide range of applications, such as the digitization of pulse signals and the logging of measurements at specific intervals.

An additional noteworthy feature is the ability to set the integration time to any desired values. This functionality allows for accurate measurement of average values for pulsed current /voltage.

Furthermore, the 7461P model possesses the capability to measure temperature with a remarkable resolution of 0.001 ℃, employing a PT sensor. Moreover, these multimeters are provided with two-channel DC voltage measurement, with a fixed Bch 10 V range. This feature enables the creation of a cost-effective measurement system architecture.

Features Digital Multimeter ADCMT 7461A

1. Data collection by high-speed sampling of digital multimeter ADCMT 7461A/7461P and 7451A

The 7461A or 7461P and the 7451A achieve the highest sampling rates of 20,000 and 5,000 readings per second respectively, along with 3½-digit resolution, by implementing the newly developed variable integration time A/D converter. These models offer a wide range of sampling intervals, from 50 μs to 3,600 s for the 7461A or 7461P, and from 200 μs to 3,600 s for the 7451A. This feature enables precise measurement intervals for high-speed digitization and data logging.

Function

+ Maximum sampling rate (readings/s):

Memory: 20,000/s

GPIB: 1,000/s

+ Integration time: 10 μs to 10 s

+ Sampling period: 50 μs to 3,600 s

+ Maximum display/PLC: 6½ digits

+ Data memory: 10,000

*PLC: Power Line Cycle

2. Variable integration time for voltage or current average measurement

With the 7461A or 7461P, the integration time can be adjusted between 10 μs and 10 s, while the 7451A allows for settings between 100 μs and 10 s. This flexibility enables convenient measurement of average current for devices such as cellular phones or LCDs. The newly developed A/D converter of which integration time can be set to any values is based on the analog integration technique, so that it provides precise average measurement data, differently from the digital method using a discrete sampling.

3. Full array of trigger functions

The built-in trigger functions, including the level trigger and the delta trigger, provide support for a wide range of measurement types. The maximum sampling rate achievable is 200 readings per second, with a minimum sampling interval of 5 ms.

4. Low power resistance measurement of digital multimeter ADCMT 7461A/7461P and 7451A

During resistance measurement, the measurement current applied to the device being measured can lead to heat generation and variation in its measured values. To mitigate these effects, the low-power 2 WΩ/4 WΩ resistance measurement technique utilizes only 1/10 of the typical measurement current. This reduction in current helps minimize thermal fluctuations and ensures more accurate measurements.

5. Easy System Configuration by Two-channel DCV Measurement

With the DCV-Bch input (10 V range fixed), current measurement and two-channel voltage measurement can be switched, which enhances the measurement throughput. (Rating voltage between Bch Hi and COM: ±12 V).
