These gases, if exceeded, will cause unsafety at work, dangerous to human health. This is a device that helps to ensure the safety of users when working in the environment of mines, manhole, tanks, &#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The multi-gas detector is equipped with highly sensitive sensors for precise gas and oxygen concentration determination. So multi-gas detector need to be calibrated periodically.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>1. What is multi-gas detector ?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The multi-gas detector is used for the detection of flammable gases, oxygen depletion and an extensive range of toxic gases meeting the safety monitoring requirements of a broad range of different industries.They are commonly used for the following gases, Hydrogen Sulphide, Carbon Monoxide, Oxygen and combustibles (%LEL). <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\"><span class=\"Q4iAWc\">This equipment is extremely important when working in environments: mines, manhole, tunnels, tanks, &#8230;. Therefore, calibration of this device is extremely necessary. As it will help ensure stability and accuracy for related operations. Besides, the calibration also helps to detect equipment failures (if any) early for timely correction and repair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O462QSfnlkM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.2 Calibration instrument<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Standard gas mixture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Gas detector, with calibration cap supplied with equipment (if available)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Regulator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Gas tubing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.3 Environment conditions<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Temperature: (20 \u00f7 25) \u00baC<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Relative Humidity: (20 \u00f7 65) %RH<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> environment conditions above apply for Techmaster inhouse laboratories. Outside this bound conditions will be considered with customer for uncertainty and measurement results.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.4 Preparation <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Multi-Gas Detector Calibration<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Ensure UUT is clean and error free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Battery and Flash can be checked, if damaged, replace when necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Place the UUT and standard gas in calibration area for a minimum of 4 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Visual inspection to determine the conformity of the measuring instrument, with the requirements specified in the technical documents in terms of shape, size, display, used power source, brand, adjustment mechanism, condition normal operation and accessories included.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Turn on UUT and warm up according to the user manual.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.5 Perform <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Multi-Gas Detector Calibration<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Almost gas detector shall be calibrated at 2 points, in there the zero point is correspond with clean air.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; For oxygen sensor, reading value should be approximately 20.9% at clean air. Or use pure nitrogen cylinder (&gt;99.99%nitrogen) to perform zero point calibration.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.5.1 Zero calibration<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Follow manufacturer\u2019s manual to perform calibrate or adjust for zero point. Ensure that calibration environment does not contain gases that could interfere with UUT<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.5.2 Span calibration<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Select standard gas cylinder suitable for gas type of UUT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; If UUT is single gas detector, use single standard gas for calibration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; If UUT is multi-gas detector, use mixture gas cylinder with concentration follow manufacturer requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; If UUT is Total Violent Organic Compound meter, use isobutylene standard gas cylinder with 10ppm or 100ppm concentration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Attach regulator to cylinder and tubing. Open valve at a moderate level and wait for about 3-5 seconds and then close the valve, so that inside regulator and tubing are fulfill with calibration gases. This is done before attaching tubing end to UUT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; The UUT should be fitted with a suitable calibration cap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Refer to the UUT manual for measuring or adjusting according to this 2nd point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Attach tubing to UUT to connect with gas cylinder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Open the gas connection valve so that the gas in the cylinder enters to UUT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/techmaster.com.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cach-hieu-chuan-may-do-4-khi-multi-gas.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37927\" src=\"https:\/\/techmaster.com.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cach-hieu-chuan-may-do-4-khi-multi-gas.jpg\" alt=\"Multi-Gas Detector Calibration Process\" width=\"755\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Wait for the value on the UUT to stabilize, record the 5 readings of the gases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Same as above, change the standard gas mixture tank to calibrate different values if any.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Compare the measurement results of the concentrations of the gases H2S, CO, CH4, O2, NH3 with the concentrations of the gases in the standard gas mixture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Turn off the machine and clean the used equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/techmaster.com.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/quy-trinh-hieu-chuan-may-do-4-khi-multi-gas-detector.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37931\" src=\"https:\/\/techmaster.com.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/quy-trinh-hieu-chuan-may-do-4-khi-multi-gas-detector.jpg\" alt=\"Quy tr\u00ecnh hi\u1ec7u chu\u1ea9n m\u00e1y \u0111o 4 kh\u00ed\" width=\"755\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Multi-Gas Detector Calibration in Techmaster.
